Creative Expo Taiwan went from a trade show promoting Taiwanese products to creating an exhibition that showcased its culture through the various Taiwanese brands. For 2014 Creative Expo Taiwan, JL DESIGN as one of the curators for the preview show, conceptualized a “Digital River”, a 3-part projection mapping video that demonstrated the beauty and diversity of Taiwan culture. The new exhibition format became the way forward for future Creative Expo Taiwan.
Creative Expo Taiwan was repositioning itself as a curated exhibition showcasing the best of Taiwanese brands. The exhibition aimed to bring out the traits and content of Taiwan cultural industries, and provide an authentic experience for the brands of Taiwan.
JL DESIGN as a curator of the preview show, came up with “Digital River” and used projection mapping videos to create an immersive environment for the visitors. The designs of the “river” reflect various prominent industries in Taiwan and the “river” portrayed a culture that never ceased. This curated exhibition brought about a new way to introduce and experience Taiwan’s cultural industries.
The Creative Expo became a more vibrant and richer experience for the visitors, enabling a deeper engagement with the culture and brands. This became a new form of communication and brought out Taiwan’s creativity.
